EVENT: 2 Star USATT Sanctioned Table Tennis Tournament with $2,200.00 in Prize Money

VENUE: Baptist Bible College, 628 E. Kearney, Springfield MO  65803, Doors open 7:30 am – Registration 8:00 am – Play starts 8:30 am

      * * USATT players must pay $5.00 rating fee.
REGISTRATION DEADLINE: Final registration February 24.  (This deadline allows time for processing the draw and distribution of tournament data.)

REFUND POLICY: 
*NO refunds will be permitted simply because an entrant fails to participate.
*NO refunds will be given due to cancellation because of inclement weather.  
Insufficient entries may be cancelled w/fees refunded.  If a rating event is cancelled the player will be placed in the next higher rated event.                                 

CHECK IN:
You may check in at the tournament site, at least 1 hour before the start of your first event on Saturday, February 28th, 2009.

RULES:  All USATT rules and regulations will be followed.  Players rating will be based on the official list sent by USATT approximately 1 week before the tournament.  You may check your current rating at www.usatt.org.  The tournament committee will seed un-rated players.  You must be a member of the USATT to participate in events other than doubles and Ping-Pong Singles (see registration form for membership information).  Participants may enter no more than 3 events.  The Tournament Director is: Bill Lewis, Brookline Station, MO.  The Certified Referee is: Eddie Hodges, Kirksville MO. The “Tournament Director” reserves the right to modify the format due to time constraints or unpredictable circumstances.

CLOTHING:  All USATT regulations will apply; specifically you must not wear a shirt that is predominately ball colored, in this case orange, nor should sleeveless shirts or un-hemmed jean shorts be worn.
 

FACILITIES & EQUIPMENT:  Wooden gymnasium floor. There are 12 tables: (4) Killerspin RAD (blue), (5) Stiga Prestige (blue), (3) Stiga Expert (green),
all with blue Yasaka nets.  Balls are Premium orange Nittaku 40 mm. Table tennis balls provided by www.paddlepalace.com.  Barriers are blue.

LEWIS'S BIO:  Mr. Lewis has participated in major USATT sanctioned tournaments and is the current 2008 Missouri State Open Champion.  He has also organized 13 major USATT sanctioned tournaments over the past nine years for the Ozarks Table Tennis Club.  As head of the Springfield club, he actively recruits local, regional and nationally rated players for table tennis events.

Table Tennis Events
  • Open Round Robin.   Five players per round robin in six groups. Top two players in each RR advance to SE. Four match minimum, eight match maximum. Format: Round Robin followed by Single Elimination. Limit: 30 players.
  • Open Singles.   Format: Knockout - Single Elimination.  Limit: 15 players.
  • Under 2100.      Format: Knockout - Single Elimination.  Limit: 15 players.
  • Under 1900.      Format: Round Robin followed by Single Elimination. Five players per R.R.

Highest player per round robin advances through single elimination.  Limit: 15 players.

  • Under 1700.      Format: Round Robin followed by Single Elimination. Five players per R.R.

Highest player per round robin advances through single elimination.  Limit: 15 players.

  • Under 1500.     Format: Round Robin followed by Single Elimination.  Five players per R.R.

Highest player per round robin advances through single elimination.  Limit: 15 players.  

  • Doubles.          First round winners advance to single elimination championship bracket.  First round losers advance to championship consolation bracket.   Format: Modified double elimination.                                                                                                 
  • Ping-Pong Singles.   This event is for those not interested in playing in a sanctioned event. You do not have to be a member of the USATT to play in this event.  It’s played for bragging rights, yet is competitive and fun.  Format: Knockout - Single Elimination.  Limit: 15 players

Participants may enter a MAXIMUM of 3 events.  Participants may not enter two events with the same starting time.  The tournament committee reserves the right to modify the format due to unpredictable or unforeseen circumstances.
